Mark Robert Bowden is an American writer and contributing editor at Vanity Fair.
Born in 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri, he graduated from Loyola College in Maryland in 1973.
Bowden worked as a staff writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer from 1979 to 2003, earning numerous awards.
He has contributed to various prestigious publications, including Men's Journal, The Atlantic Monthly, and Rolling Stone.
Bowden gained international recognition for his book "Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War," which was adapted into a film directed by Ridley Scott in 2001.
