• Testifying that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger.

• Performing Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca).
• Observing fast during the month of Ramadan.

These principles serve as the foundation of Islamic practice and belief.

2. Navigating Daily Life: Knowledge, Actions, and Manners

A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands.

Ethical conduct. The Hadith provides guidance on how to live a virtuous life, emphasizing the importance of avoiding harm to others through speech or action. This includes refraining from gossip, backbiting, and physical violence, and striving to be a source of peace and goodwill in the community.

Seeking knowledge. The pursuit of knowledge is highly valued in Islam, as it enables individuals to better understand and fulfill their religious obligations. The Hadith encourages Muslims to seek knowledge of the Qur'an, the Sunnah (Prophet's traditions), and other beneficial sciences.

Good manners. The Hadith stresses the importance of good manners and etiquette in all aspects of life, from greeting others with kindness and respect to seeking permission before entering someone's home. These practices promote harmony and strengthen social bonds.

3. Purity and Prayer: Ablutions, Bathing, and Their Significance

Save your heels from the fire.

Physical and spiritual purity. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of physical cleanliness as a prerequisite for prayer and other acts of worship. Ablutions (Wudu) and bathing (Ghusl) are not merely hygienic practices but also symbolic acts of purification that prepare the body and mind for communion with Allah.

Specifics of ablution. The text provides detailed instructions on how to perform ablutions correctly, including washing the hands, rinsing the mouth and nose, washing the face and forearms, passing wet hands over the head, and washing the feet. These rituals are performed in a specific order and with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure.

Cleanliness in daily life. The Hadith extends the concept of purity beyond ritual practices, encouraging Muslims to maintain cleanliness in their daily lives by avoiding contact with impure substances, such as urine and dung, and by keeping their surroundings clean and tidy.

4. The Essence of Faith: Love, Intention, and Divine Will

None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father and his children.

Love for the Prophet. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of loving the Prophet Muhammad more than one's own family, wealth, and even oneself. This love is not merely an emotional attachment but a deep reverence and admiration for his character, teachings, and example.

If Allah wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion.

The role of the Prophet. The Prophet Muhammad is presented as the ultimate source of guidance and knowledge for Muslims. His teachings, actions, and sayings serve as a model for how to live a righteous life and attain salvation.

Importance of conveying knowledge. The Hadith encourages Muslims to share their knowledge with others and to teach the ignorant, as knowledge does not vanish except when it is kept secret. This underscores the importance of education and the transmission of Islamic values from one generation to the next.

6. Social Ethics and Justice: Responsibilities, Hypocrisy, and Hypocrisy

A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands.

7. The Portents of the Hour: Signs, Trials, and the End of the World

When honesty is lost, then wait for the Hour (Doomsday).

Signs of the Hour. The Hadith mentions several signs that will precede the Day of Judgment, including the loss of honesty, the prevalence of ignorance, the drinking of alcoholic drinks, and the increase in illegal sexual intercourse. These signs serve as a warning to Muslims to remain vigilant and strive to live righteous lives.

Trials and tribulations. The Hadith acknowledges that life is full of trials and tribulations, but it encourages Muslims to remain patient and steadfast in their faith. Those who endure these trials with perseverance and trust in Allah will be rewarded in the Hereafter.

The coming of the Hour. The Hadith reminds Muslims that the Hour (Day of Judgment) is inevitable and that they should prepare for it by living righteous lives and fulfilling their obligations to Allah and to others. This includes believing in Allah, His angels, His apostles, and the Resurrection.

8. The Path to Paradise: Deeds, Sincerity, and Divine Grace

Whoever said "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a barley grain will be taken out of Hell.

Good deeds. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of performing good deeds as a means of attaining Paradise. These deeds include believing in Allah, participating in Jihad, performing Hajj, establishing prayers, observing fasts, and giving obligatory charity.

Divine grace. The Hadith acknowledges that salvation is ultimately a gift from Allah and that it is through His grace and mercy that individuals are admitted into Paradise. This encourages Muslims to remain humble and grateful for Allah's blessings.

9. The Sacred and the Forbidden: Boundaries Set by Allah

Both legal and illegal things are evident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them.

Legal and illegal things. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of adhering to the boundaries set by Allah and avoiding things that are forbidden in Islam. This includes refraining from illegal sexual intercourse, stealing, killing, and consuming alcoholic drinks.

Doubtful things. The Hadith warns against indulging in doubtful or suspicious things, as they may lead to committing sins. Muslims are encouraged to avoid these things and to seek guidance from religious scholars when in doubt.

The heart as a guide. The Hadith highlights the importance of the heart as a guide to righteousness. A good and reformed heart will lead to good actions, while a spoilt heart will lead to evil deeds. Muslims are encouraged to purify their hearts and to seek Allah's guidance in all matters.

10. The Importance of Community: Unity, Support, and Leadership

None of you will have faith till he wishes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself.

Brotherhood and unity. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of brotherhood and unity among Muslims. Muslims are encouraged to love one another, to support one another in times of need, and to avoid harming one another through speech or action.

Mutual support. The Hadith highlights the importance of helping and recommending others, as well as facilitating things for people and not making it hard for them. This includes supporting the poor, the weak, and the needy, and striving to create a just and equitable society.

Qualities of a leader. The Hadith outlines the qualities of a good leader, including knowledge, wisdom, compassion, and fairness. Leaders are encouraged to be just and equitable in their dealings with others and to prioritize the well-being of their people.

11. The Human Condition: Weakness, Strength, and Divine Mercy

Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way.

Human weakness. The Hadith acknowledges that human beings are inherently weak and prone to error. This encourages Muslims to be compassionate towards others and to forgive their mistakes.

Strength through faith. The Hadith emphasizes that true strength comes from faith in Allah and reliance on His guidance. Those who possess strong faith are able to overcome trials and tribulations with patience, perseverance, and trust in Allah.

Divine mercy. The Hadith highlights the boundless mercy of Allah and His willingness to forgive those who repent and turn to Him in sincerity. This encourages Muslims to seek Allah's forgiveness for their sins and to strive to live righteous lives.

12. The Afterlife: Judgments, Hellfire, and Paradise

I was shown the Hell−fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful.

The Day of Judgment. The Hadith reminds Muslims that they will be held accountable for their deeds on the Day of Judgment and that they should strive to live righteous lives in order to attain salvation. This includes believing in Allah, His angels, His apostles, and the Resurrection.

Hellfire and Paradise. The Hadith describes the horrors of Hellfire and the delights of Paradise, emphasizing that the ultimate destination of individuals depends on their deeds and their faith. Those who are righteous will be admitted into Paradise, while those who are wicked will be cast into Hellfire.

Intercession. The Hadith mentions the possibility of intercession on the Day of Resurrection, whereby the Prophet Muhammad and other righteous individuals will intercede on behalf of believers to Allah. This encourages Muslims to seek the Prophet's intercession and to strive to be among those who are worthy of it.
