Eusebius of Caesarea (c.
AD 263 – 339), also called Eusebius Pamphili, was a Roman historian, exegete and Christian polemicist who became Bishop of Caesarea in Palestine around 314.
Together with Pamphilus, he was a scholar of the Biblical canon and wrote extensively on Christian theology and history.
His notable works include Demonstrations of the Gospel, Preparations for the Gospel, and On Discrepancies between the Gospels.
Known as the "Father of Church History," he produced the influential Ecclesiastical History, along with On the Life of Pamphilus, the Chronicle, and On the Martyrs, establishing himself as a foundational figure in early Christian historiography.
