Linda Chapman was born in Liverpool in 1969 and worked numerous jobs—including theatre stage manager, dog trainer, bookseller, nanny, teacher, and research assistant—before becoming a full-time writer in 1999.
She has authored over 300 children's books, sometimes under pseudonyms and frequently collaborating with others.
She co-authors the New York Times bestselling Unicorn Academy series with Julie Sykes, alongside Mermaid Academy, Forever Homes, and Pocket Unicorns.
Her many series include My Secret Unicorn, Star Friends, and Magic Keepers.
Linda lives in Leicestershire with her husband, three children, two horses, and three dogs.
