Éric Justin Léon Zemmour, born August 31, 1958, is a Jewish Algerian-French polemicist, essayist, political journalist, and writer.
A prominent and controversial household name in France, he gained international recognition with his best-selling book The French Suicide, earning the 2015 Prix Combourg-Chateaubriand.
He also received the 2011 Prix Richelieu for his journalism career.
Known for his far-right nationalist views, Zemmour became a significant political figure, eventually declaring his candidacy for the French presidency in November 2021, drawing comparisons to Donald Trump for his media-driven political rise.
