Robert Muchamore is a British author born in London in 1972.
He worked as a private investigator until 2005 when he released his critically acclaimed book Maximum Security.
Muchamore created the CHERUB series after his nephew complained about the lack of engaging books for young readers.
His first book, CHERUB: The Recruit, won the Red House Children's Book Award in 2005.
Muchamore is considered part of the "British Rat pack" of YA authors, alongside Anthony Horowitz, Mark A. Cooper, and Charlie Higson.
His work has contributed to the growth of the YA/Children's book genre.
Muchamore has also written the Henderson's Boys series, which follows the creator of the fictional CHERUB organization.
