Susie Boyt, born January 1969, is a British novelist and daughter of artist Lucian Freud and great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud.
Educated at Camden School for Girls and St Catherine's College, Oxford, where she graduated in 1992 with an English degree, Boyt later completed a Masters in Anglo American Literary Relations at University College London.
Her debut novel, The Normal Man, was published in 1995.
She has since published several novels and a 2008 memoir, My Judy Garland Life.
Boyt writes an ongoing column for the Financial Times weekend edition and lives in London with her husband, film producer Tom Astor, and their two daughters.
