Whitney Scharer is an American novelist whose debut, THE AGE OF LIGHT, explores the life of photographer Lee Miller.
Published in February 2019 by Little, Brown (US) and Picador (UK), the novel became a Boston Globe and IndieNext bestseller and earned recognition from publications including Parade, Glamour Magazine, and Real Simple as one of 2019's best books.
Internationally, it won Le prix Rive Gauche à Paris and was selected as a coups de coeur by the American Library in Paris.
The book has been published in over a dozen countries.
Scharer earned her BA from Wesleyan University and MFA from the University of Washington.
She resides outside Boston with her husband and daughter.
