Ann Brashares
Ann Brashares grew up in Maryland and attended Sidwell Friends, a Quaker school.
She studied Philosophy at Barnard College in New York City.
Initially planning to pursue graduate studies, Brashares took a year off to work as an editor.
She enjoyed the job so much that she continued in publishing for many years.
Brashares eventually transitioned to full-time writing, debuting with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
This career shift proved successful, as she went on to write multiple books in the series.
Brashares now lives in New York with her husband and three children, continuing her writing career.
