Carole Martinez, a former actress, transitioned into education, becoming a French teacher at a middle school in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
Taking parental leave in 2005, she pursued her passion for writing, aiming to create something between a fairy tale and a novel.
Drawing from her Spanish family traditions and her grandmother's stories, she wrote Le Cœur cousu, which earned her multiple awards, including the Prix Renaudot des lycéens in 2007.
She later published a crime novel for young readers, L'Œil du témoin, and in 2011, her adult novel Du domaine des murmures won the prestigious Goncourt des lycéens.
