Cherie Dimaline is an award-winning author from the Georgian Bay MΓ©tis community.
Her fiction has gained international recognition, and she won the Governor General's Literary Award in 2017 for The Marrow Thieves.
Dimaline's achievements include being named the Emerging Artist of the Year at the Ontario Premier's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2014.
She became the first Aboriginal Writer in Residence for the Toronto Public Library.
Currently residing in Toronto, Dimaline coordinates the annual Indigenous Writers' Gathering.
Her work has contributed significantly to Indigenous representation in literature.
