Clarice Lispector
Clarice Lispector was a Brazilian writer known for her innovative novels and short stories.
Born in Ukraine to a Jewish family, she moved to Brazil as an infant.
Lispector gained fame at 23 with her first novel, "Near to the Wild Heart." She lived abroad for many years due to her husband's diplomatic career.
Upon returning to Brazil, she produced her most famous works, including "The Passion According to G.H." and "Água Viva." Despite suffering from chronic pain in her later years, Lispector continued writing until her death in 1977.
Her works have significantly influenced Brazilian literature and have been adapted into films.
