Garth Stein is an American author and film producer from Seattle, Washington.
He has written four novels, including the internationally bestselling "The Art of Racing in the Rain." Stein's other works include "A Sudden Light," "How Evan Broke His Head and Other Secrets," and "Raven Stole the Moon." He has also written a stage play called "Brother Jones." Stein's personal experiences with dog ownership and car racing have influenced his writing.
He is actively involved in the literary community as a co-founder of Seattle7Writers.org, a non-profit organization of Northwest authors working to promote reading and writing.
Stein lives in Seattle with his family and continues to write and engage in various creative pursuits.
