Adolph Arthur "Harpo" Marx was an American comedian, actor, and musician best known as the silent member of the Marx Brothers comedy team.
Born in 1888, Harpo dropped out of school in second grade and began working various jobs to support his family.
He rose to fame with his brothers in vaudeville before transitioning to Broadway and Hollywood.
Despite his on-screen silence, Harpo was known for his wit and charm off-screen.
He was a member of the Algonquin Round Table and had close friendships with many literary and entertainment figures.
Harpo married later in life and adopted four children with his wife.
He passed away in 1964, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and music.
