Hiromu Arakawa is a Japanese manga artist born and raised on a dairy farm in Hokkaidō.
She aspired to be a manga artist from a young age and pursued this dream while working on her family's farm.
After moving to Tokyo, she began as an assistant writer before debuting as a manga artist in 1999 with STRAY DOG. Her breakthrough came with Fullmetal Alchemist in 2001, which garnered critical acclaim and a successful anime adaptation.
Arakawa's real name is Hiromi Arakawa, and she has also created other notable works such as Silver Spoon.
Her background in farming often influences her manga, providing unique perspectives and authenticity to her storytelling.
