Jack Weyland is a renowned author of young-adult fiction for the Latter-day Saint market.
He pioneered this genre with his popular novel Charly.
Weyland's writing career began with a correspondence course in creative writing at BYU. He has since published over two dozen books and numerous short stories in The New Era magazine.
Born in Montana, Weyland holds a Ph.D. in physics from BYU and teaches at BYU-Idaho.
He previously taught at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
Weyland and his wife have five children and four grandchildren.
