Jacques Steinberg is a journalist and author with over two decades of experience as a staff reporter for The New York Times.
He is best known for his New York Times-bestselling book "The Gatekeepers: Inside the Admissions Process of a Premier College." Steinberg currently works as a national education correspondent for the Times and created and moderates The Choice, the paper's college admissions blog.
He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1984 with a history degree and experience as editor of the student newspaper.
Steinberg resides in Westchester County, New York, with his wife and two children, occasionally engaging in recreational swimming and biking.
