Jeff Hawkins is an American inventor, neuroscientist, and author.
He co-founded Palm Computing and Handspring, where he helped create the PalmPilot and Treo devices.
Hawkins later shifted his focus to neuroscience, founding the Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience and Numenta, a company dedicated to developing machine intelligence based on brain theory.
He is known for his memory-prediction framework theory of the brain, detailed in his book "On Intelligence." Hawkins has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering and serves on the Advisory Board of the Secular Coalition for America.
