Julie Powell
Julie Powell was an American author born and raised in Austin, Texas.
She gained fame for her cooking memoir "Julie & Julia," published in 2005, which chronicled her year-long project of cooking all 524 recipes in Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." Powell's writing career expanded beyond her debut, with her work appearing in various publications including Bon Appétit, The New York Times, and Archaeology Magazine.
Her passion for cooking developed in her hometown, where she also met her husband, Eric.
Powell's memoir was adapted into a popular film, further cementing her place in culinary literature.
