Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician and attorney currently serving as the 49th Vice President of the United States.
Born in Oakland, California, to immigrant parents, she graduated from Howard University and UC Hastings College of Law.
Harris began her career as a prosecutor, eventually becoming District Attorney of San Francisco and Attorney General of California.
She was elected U.S. Senator from California in 2016 and gained national attention for her questioning of Trump administration officials.
After a brief presidential run in 2020, she was selected as Joe Biden's running mate and became the first female, African-American, and Asian-American Vice President.
Harris is now the presumptive Democratic nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
