Kevin Young is an American poet and professor at Emory University.
Influenced by Langston Hughes and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Young graduated from Harvard and earned his MFA from Brown.
He has authored numerous poetry collections, including "Jelly Roll," a National Book Award finalist.
Young has also edited anthologies and written about art.
His work has appeared in prestigious literary magazines, and he has served as a guest editor for Ploughshares.
At Emory, Young teaches writing and curates the Raymond Danowski Poetry Library, a significant collection of rare poetry editions.
