Leni Zumas is an American author and academic based in Portland, Oregon.
She is best known for her novel Red Clocks, published in 2018 by Little, Brown.
The book received critical acclaim and was compared to Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale for its exploration of women's reproductive rights in a dystopian setting.
Zumas has also published a novel called The Listeners and a short story collection titled Farewell Navigator.
She currently serves as the Director of Creative Writing at Portland State University, where she teaches and mentors aspiring writers.
Zumas' work often focuses on feminist themes and experimental narrative structures.
