Maria Mazziotti Gillan
Maria Mazziotti Gillan is an accomplished poet, educator, and literary figure.
She has received prestigious awards, including the 2011 Barnes & Noble Writers for Writers Award and the 2008 American Book Award.
Gillan has published twelve poetry collections and co-edited four anthologies.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Poetry Center at Passaic County Community College and directs the Creative Writing Program at Binghamton University-SUNY. Born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey, Gillan's work often explores themes of identity, ethnicity, and personal experiences.
Her contributions to literature extend beyond her own writing, as she actively promotes and nurtures other writers through her teaching and editorial roles.
