Marisha Pessl is an American author born in Asheville, North Carolina.
Her debut novel, Special Topics in Calamity Physics, was published in 2006 to critical acclaim, becoming a bestseller and winning the John Sargent Sr. First Novel Prize.
It was also selected as one of the 10 Best Books of the Year by The New York Times Book Review.
