Masaru Emoto was a Japanese author and entrepreneur known for his controversial work on water crystal experiments.
Born in Yokohama in 1943, he graduated from Yokohama Municipal University with a focus on International Relations.
Emoto claimed that human consciousness could affect water's molecular structure, publishing several books on the subject, including "The Hidden Messages in Water." His work gained popularity through the documentary "What the Bleep Do We Know!?" Despite criticism from the scientific community for lack of experimental controls and peer review, Emoto's ideas resonated with many in the New Age and alternative medicine communities.
He continued to promote his theories through lectures and workshops until his death in 2014.
