Patrick Rothfuss is an American fantasy author best known for his debut novel, The Name of the Wind.
Born to supportive parents, he spent much of his adult life at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, studying various subjects and honing his writing skills.
Rothfuss began writing his novel during college and spent years refining it while pursuing different academic interests.
After facing numerous rejections, he eventually found success with The Name of the Wind, which has since been translated into multiple languages and won several awards.
Rothfuss now teaches part-time and continues to write.
