Penelope Lively is a renowned British author known for her award-winning novels and short stories for both adults and children.
Born in 1933, she spent her early years in Egypt before moving to England.
Lively has been twice shortlisted for the Booker Prize and won it in 1987 for "Moon Tiger." Her works often explore themes of memory, history, and the passage of time.
Lively has also written memoirs and children's literature, winning the Carnegie Medal and Whitbread Award.
She was appointed CBE in 2001 and DBE in 2012.
