Peter Haining
Peter Alexander Haining was a British journalist, author, and anthologist who lived from 1940 to 2007.
He began his career in journalism and publishing before becoming a full-time writer in the 1970s.
Haining edited numerous anthologies, primarily of horror and fantasy short stories, and wrote non-fiction books on various topics.
He also authored controversial books about Sweeney Todd and Spring Heeled Jack, though the accuracy of his claims has been questioned.
Haining wrote several reference books on popular culture topics, including Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes, and later focused on World War Two stories based on research and interviews.
He won the British Fantasy Awards Karl Edward Wagner Award in 2001.
