Pyotr Wrangel
Pyotr Nikolayevich Wrangel was a Russian Lieutenant General and prominent leader of the White Army during the Russian Civil War.
Born into a Baltic German noble family, he served with distinction in the Imperial Russian Army during World War I. In 1918-1919, Wrangel commanded a cavalry corps under General Anton Denikin.
In April 1920, he was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the White forces in Crimea.
Known for his military prowess and charismatic leadership, Wrangel attempted to reorganize and revitalize the White movement.
Despite ultimate defeat, he successfully organized a large-scale evacuation of troops and civilians from Crimea.
After exile, Wrangel continued to lead Russian émigré organizations until his death in 1928.
