Dr. Randall Collins is an American sociologist and Emeritus Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
A leading contemporary social theorist and non-Marxist conflict theorist, he served as American Sociological Association president (2010-2011).
His expertise spans macro-historical sociology of political/economic change, micro-sociology of face-to-face interaction, and sociology of intellectuals and social conflict.
Collins has taught at prestigious universities worldwide including Berkeley, Harvard, Cambridge, and institutions across Europe, Japan, and China.
