Sandra Cisneros is an acclaimed Mexican-American author known for her poetry and fiction.
Her most famous work is The House on Mango Street, but she has also written novels, short stories, and children's books.
Cisneros has received numerous awards, including the American Book Award and MacArthur Fellowship.
She founded the Macondo Foundation to support underserved communities through writing.
Cisneros draws on her experiences growing up in Chicago to create authentic portrayals of Latino culture in America.
She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas, where she serves as Writer in Residence at Our Lady of the Lake University.
