Tanya Boteju is a Vancouver-based author and teacher residing on unceded First Nations territories.
She balances her time between educating young people and writing, using the latter as an excuse to indulge in pastries.
Boteju's debut novel, "Kings, Queens, and In-Betweens," garnered recognition from the American Booksellers Association and the American Librarian Association.
Her second novel, "Bruised," was selected as a Gold Standard book by the Junior Library Guild.
With upcoming works in both YA and middle-grade categories, Boteju aims to contribute to social justice through her teaching and writing.
