Tony Iommi
Anthony Frank "Tony" Iommi is an English guitarist and songwriter, best known as the founding member of Black Sabbath.
He is widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in heavy metal, ranked first on Guitar World's "100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time" and 25th on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." Iommi's autobiography, "Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath," was published in 2011.
He has been the sole continuous member of Black Sabbath through numerous lineup changes.
In January 2012, Iommi was diagnosed with early-stage lymphoma, adding a personal health challenge to his storied musical career.
