His Divine Grace Abhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was born in 1896 in Calcutta, India.
He met his spiritual master, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, in 1922 and became his disciple in 1933.
Prabhupada dedicated his life to spreading Vedic knowledge in the West, as requested by his guru.
He wrote commentaries, started an English magazine, and founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
In his final decade, despite advanced age, Prabhupada traveled extensively, lecturing and writing prolifically.
His works comprise a comprehensive library of Vedic philosophy, religion, and culture, making him a significant figure in spreading Hindu teachings globally.
