Waubgeshig Rice is an Anishinaabe writer and journalist from Wasauksing First Nation in Ontario, Canada.
He grew up immersed in his community's traditions and culture, which heavily influence his writing.
Rice has authored several works, including the short story collection Midnight Sweatlodge and the novels Legacy, Moon of the Crusted Snow, and its sequel, Moon of the Turning Leaves.
His writing often explores Indigenous experiences and perspectives.
Rice is also a martial artist with a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
