Xóchitl González is a Brooklyn native raised by her maternal grandparents.
She graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Fine Art and Art History in 1999.
At age 40, González pursued her dream of writing, attending the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and earning an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop at 43.
