Elizabeth Engstrom grew up between Illinois and Utah before eventually settling in Hawaii, where she worked as an advertising copywriter and later co-founded an agency in Maui.
After selling the agency, she pursued her lifelong dream of fiction writing, guided by mentor and science fiction legend Theodore Sturgeon, who helped bring her debut work to publication.
She later relocated to Oregon, where she continues to live.
Engstrom holds degrees in English Literature, Applied Theology, and Pastoral Care from Marylhurst University, and occasionally teaches writing and speaks at literary conferences despite describing herself as an introvert.
