Lisa Aronson Fontes
Lisa Aronson Fontes, PhD, teaches at the University Without Walls at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
She has spent twenty years improving social service, mental health, criminal justice, and medical systems' responsiveness to culturally diverse populations.
Her extensive publications focus on cultural issues in child maltreatment, violence against women, cross-cultural research, and ethics.
Dr. Fontes has worked as a psychotherapist and conducted research with diverse communities in the United States, Chile, and with Somali refugees.
A 2007 Fulbright Fellow in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and regularly speaks at conferences and facilitates workshops.
