Key Takeaways

1. Business is a game, not a battle.

Most people consider life a battle, but it is not a battle, it is a game.

Reframe challenges. View entrepreneurship as a game with inevitable obstacles, like snakes and ladders. Setbacks, like refund requests or tech screw-ups, are just part of the journey, not reasons to quit. Every challenge is a learning opportunity and fodder for future stories.

Play lightly. Business doesn't have to be overly serious or stressful. You can navigate challenges with a sense of humor and resilience, picking yourself up and rolling the dice again. This mindset shift is like finding cheat codes or power-ups in the game.

Choose to play. Success comes from choosing to stay in the game, even when scared. Fear is the biggest obstacle, but it doesn't mean you're not brave enough. It's a normal part of the process, and what scares you today won't scare you tomorrow.

2. Money blocks are inevitable but manageable.

It’s okay for you to make money with ease and flow.

Identify your blocks. Recognize the common limiting beliefs that stop you from receiving money easily:

  • You have to work really hard to make money.
  • You can help people or make money, but not both (the 'Broke Healer').
  • More money, more problems.

Counter cultural norms. Society often glorifies hard work and busyness, making ease feel lazy or undeserved. The internet and automation allow for leveraged income, which can trigger guilt if you believe money must come from struggle.

Embrace ease. Making money doesn't have to be a struggle. Working smarter, not harder, through elimination, automation, and delegation is the Chillpreneur way. It's safe and okay to make money doing what you love with ease.

3. You are allowed to be rich, too.

You’ll never feel ready enough, and chances are that nobody is going to ‘choose’ you. You have to choose yourself.

Challenge scarcity. The 'Highlander Myth' suggests there can only be one winner, leading to comparison and self-doubt. There is more than enough success for everyone, regardless of industry or background.

Claim your worth. Stop waiting for external validation or permission to be successful. You are good enough exactly as you are, and you deserve success. Decide you are ready and worthy, even if you don't feel it yet.

Redefine wealth. Wealth isn't just about possessions; it's about freedom, choice, and impact. You don't have to fit a stereotype of what a 'rich person' looks like. You can be wealthy and still be yourself, using your money for good.

4. Protect the Golden Goose (You!).

You are the Golden Goose.

You are the asset. Your business's ability to generate wealth depends on your well-being and energy. Burning yourself out by overworking or over-committing kills the source of your income.

Prioritize self-care. Consciously protect your energy and health. This means setting boundaries, saying no to things that drain you, and respecting your capacity. Don't try to "boil the ocean" by pursuing too many ideas at once.

Avoid burnout. Learn from others' mistakes and your own. A health crisis or forced intervention from the universe shouldn't be the wake-up call. Build rest, fun, and recovery into your schedule.

5. Design your business around your strengths.

It’s okay to build your business around your strengths.

Know thyself. Build your business model around what feels natural and easy for you, not what others are doing or what you think you "should" do. Leverage your unique personality and skills.

Focus on flow. Identify tasks that energize you versus those that drain you. Eliminate, outsource, or delegate your weaknesses. Use personality tests (like Kolbe or Sacred Money Archetypes) to understand your natural inclinations.

It's allowed to be easy. Don't make things harder than they need to be. If something feels like paddling upstream, find an easier way or let it go. Your business should support your dreams, not become a source of constant struggle.

6. Embrace the Keyless Life through simplification.

It is always the simple that produces the marvelous.

Eliminate friction. Systematically remove small inconveniences in your business and home life that drain your energy. These 'chillcuts' free up mental space and time for income-producing activities.

Outsource strategically. You don't have to do everything yourself. Hire help for tasks you hate, struggle with, or shouldn't be doing. Start small, pay experts, and don't hire people just like you – hire for your skill gaps.

Simplify everything. Look for ways to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and batch similar activities. This applies to both your business operations and your home life, allowing you to focus on what truly matters.

7. Price for your value, not others' opinions.

If you undervalue what you do, the world undervalues who you are.

Stop pricing by committee. Don't ask unqualified people (friends, family, random strangers) what you should charge. Their opinions are based on their own money blocks and circumstances, not your value or target market.

Charge for profit. You are allowed to make a healthy profit from your work. Factor in all your costs, including your time and expertise. Stop undercharging and over-delivering out of guilt or insecurity.

It's okay to be expensive. Your price is not a reflection of your worth as a human. It's a business decision. Higher prices can signal quality and attract clients who value your expertise. It's okay if some people can't afford you; they aren't your ideal clients.

8. Awkward money conversations get easier with practice.

Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management.

Boundaries are essential. Don't let fear of confrontation stop you from having necessary money talks (pricing, discounts, refunds, defaults). These are normal parts of business.

Use strategies. Employ simple techniques to navigate awkward conversations:

  • Get a 'gatekeeper' (real or fake assistant).
  • Use scripts and canned responses.
  • Practice clarity and remove apologetic language.
  • Update your policies and terms.

Say no when needed. You don't have to accommodate every request for discounts, freebies, or exceptions. Saying no protects your energy and business integrity. It gets easier with practice.

9. Marketing is simple: Share and make offers.

Marketing is how you manifest clients.

The two-step formula. My millionaire marketing strategy is simple: Share what you know, and make offers. Consistently provide value to your audience, and then clearly tell them how they can buy from you.

Build your community. The 'money is in your list' (or community). Consistently give value through content (blogs, videos, social media) to build trust and relationships. Ask for permission to contact them again.

Be proactive. Don't just wait for clients to find you. Reach out, make offers, and get your message in front of potential customers. Marketing is an active process, not a passive one.

10. Understand the numbers: Not everyone will buy.

Not everyone is going to buy.

Accept the statistics. On average, only 1-2% of people who see your sales page will buy. This isn't personal failure; it's a predictable conversion rate. Knowing this helps manage expectations and reduces emotional attachment to results.

Growth is paced. The 1% conversion rule often protects you from growing too fast before you have the systems, team, and capacity to handle a large influx of clients. Celebrate the customers you do get.

Focus on volume. To increase sales, you need more eyeballs on your offers. Instead of trying to drastically improve your conversion rate (which is hard), focus on increasing the number of people you reach.

11. Show up authentically to attract your people.

Your face is your fortune.

Be real. Authenticity is a powerful marketing tool. Share your truth, your imperfections, and your journey. People connect with vulnerability and relate to leaders who are real.

Make people feel less alone. Talk about taboo topics or challenges you've faced. Your honesty can be incredibly reassuring and inspiring to others who are experiencing similar things.

Choose your medium. Market in a way that feels natural and comfortable for you (writing, speaking, video, etc.). Consistency is more important than finding the 'perfect' platform. Batch content to maintain visibility without being 'on' 24/7.

12. Passive income provides freedom and choice.

Passive income gives you choice.

Leverage your expertise. Create products or services that allow you to make money while you sleep (e-books, courses, templates, memberships). This requires upfront work but offers significant leverage.

Overcome resistance. Passive income can feel like 'easy money,' triggering the 'work hard' money block. It's okay to earn money without constant effort. Your knowledge and curated solutions are valuable.

Increase impact and freedom. Passive income reduces reliance on trading time for money, freeing up your energy and time. This allows you to help more people and pursue other dreams or hobbies.
