George Ritzer
George Ritzer is a Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, recognized for both his scholarship and teaching.
He received the American Sociological Association's Distinguished Contribution to Teaching Award and holds an Honorary Doctorate from La Trobe University, Melbourne.
He has served as chair of four ASA sections, including Theoretical Sociology and Global and Transnational Sociology, and was named an Honorary Patron at Trinity College, Dublin.
A prolific and internationally recognized scholar, his works have been translated into over twenty languages, with The McDonaldization of Society alone appearing in more than a dozen translations.
