Mia Bay
Mia Bay is an American historian serving as the Roy F. and Jeannette P. Nichols Chair in American History at the University of Pennsylvania.
Previously, she was a professor of history at Rutgers University and director of the Rutgers Center for Race and Ethnicity.
A accomplished scholar, Bay is a 2010 Alphonse Fletcher Sr. Fellow and a 2009 National Humanities Fellow.
She has authored two books on African American history, with her most notable work being To Tell the Truth Freely: The Life of Ida B. Wells, a biography of the influential journalist and civil rights activist Ida B. Wells.
