Alan Marshall (2 May 1902 – 21 January 1984) was an Australian writer, storyteller, and social documenter born in Noorat, Victoria.
His most acclaimed work, I Can Jump Puddles (1955), forms the first part of a three-volume autobiography, followed by This is the Grass (1962) and In Mine Own Heart (1963).
Marshall wrote extensively throughout his career, producing numerous short stories primarily set in the Australian bush, as well as newspaper columns and magazine articles.
He traveled widely both within Australia and internationally.
Marshall also dedicated himself to collecting and publishing Indigenous Australian stories and legends, contributing significantly to Australian literature and cultural preservation.
