Chana Porter is a multifaceted creative voice working across fiction, theater, and education.
Described by the New York Times as using "incongruity and exaggeration to suggest midnight-dark truths," she is an emerging playwright, speculative novelist, and education activist whose plays have been developed at prestigious venues including Playwrights Horizons and La MaMa.
A MacDowell Fellow and recipient of multiple artist residencies, she also co-founded the Octavia Project, a free writing and STEM program for Brooklyn teenage girls and non-binary youth.
She has taught her embodied creativity course at numerous universities and is currently writer-in-residence at The Catastrophic Theatre in Houston.
