At 21, she published her debut novel, The Bone Season, the first in a seven-book fantasy series.

Its prequel, A Day of Fallen Night, became an instant Sunday Times bestseller.
Shannon is currently working on the fifth book in The Bone Season series, The Dark Mirror.
