Joseph Goldstein
Joseph Goldstein ist ein prominenter amerikanischer Vipassana-Lehrer und Autor, geboren 1944.
Gemeinsam mit Jack Kornfield und Sharon Salzberg gründete er die Insight Meditation Society (IMS) und dient dort als ansässiger leitender Lehrer.
Goldstein hat zahlreiche populäre Bücher über den Buddhismus geschrieben, die vor allem westlichen Lesern die Konzepte und Praktiken des Theravada näherbringen.
Er leitet weltweit Retreats zu Einsichts- (Vipassana) und Liebende-Güte- (Metta) Meditation.
In seinem Werk "One Dharma" aus dem Jahr 2002 erforschte Goldstein die Integration von Theravada-, tibetischen und Zen-Traditionen.
Seine Lehren und Schriften haben wesentlich zur Verbreitung buddhistischer Meditationspraktiken im Westen beigetragen.
