Matt Kaplan is a science correspondent at The Economist, where he has led biology coverage for nearly two decades.
Born in California and now based in England, he trained as a paleontologist at Berkeley and studied science journalism at Imperial College, London.
A Knight Fellowship recipient in 2014, he has written for National Geographic, New Scientist, Nature, and the New York Times.
He is the author of The Science of Monsters and Science of the Magical, and co-authored David Attenborough's First Life: A Journey Through Time.
