Sadeqa Johnson
Sadeqa Johnson is a New York Times bestselling author of five novels, including The House of Eve (a Reese's Book Club pick) and Yellow Wife.
Originally from Philadelphia and now residing near Richmond, Virginia, Johnson has earned numerous accolades including being a 2022 Hurston/Wright Foundation Legacy finalist, BCALA Literary Honoree, and Library of Virginia Literary People's Choice Award winner.
A Kimbilio Fellow, she teaches in the M.F.A. program at Drexel University.
Johnson is recognized for her meticulous historical research and ability to illuminate marginalized stories, particularly focusing on Black women's experiences across different time periods with emotional resonance and authenticity.
