Originally from Philadelphia and now residing near Richmond, Virginia, Johnson has earned numerous accolades including being a 2022 Hurston/Wright Foundation Legacy finalist, BCALA Literary Honoree, and Library of Virginia Literary People's Choice Award winner.
A Kimbilio Fellow, she teaches in the M.F.A. program at Drexel University.
