Charlotte Elisabeth Grace Roche is a British-born German television presenter, actress, singer, and author who is bilingual in English and German.
She grew up in Germany from age eight in a liberal, alternative cultural environment.
After leaving school at 17, she founded garage rock group The Dubinskis and later became a VJ for German music channel Viva.
Tragically, her three brothers died in a 2001 car crash en route to her wedding.
Her novel Feuchtgebiete (Wetlands in English) became the world's best-selling novel in March 2008, selling over 1.5 million copies in Germany by early 2009, exploring themes of cleanliness, sex, and femininity.
