Angela Flournoy is the author of The Wilderness and the acclaimed debut The Turner House, which was a National Book Award finalist and won the VCU Cabell First Novel Prize.
Her nonfiction appears in The New York Times, The Nation, The Los Angeles Times, and The New Yorker.
An Iowa Writers' Workshop graduate, she has taught at numerous prestigious institutions including Columbia, Princeton, and UCLA, and currently teaches in Warren Wilson College's low-residency MFA program.
She has received fellowships from the New York Public Library Cullman Center, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the American Academy in Berlin.
Raised in Southern California, she has Los Angeles and Detroit roots.
