Catherine Fisher
Catherine Fisher is a Welsh author born in Newport who graduated from the University of Wales with a degree in English.
She has worked in education, archaeology, and as a creative writing lecturer at the University of Glamorgan, and is a Fellow of the Welsh Academy.
Fisher is an acclaimed poet and novelist who has won numerous awards.
Her Oracle trilogy, which blends Egyptian and Greek mythology, became an international bestseller published in over twenty languages.
Her other notable works include Incarceron, which won the Mythopoeic Society of America's Children's Fiction Award, and The Book of the Crow quartet, considered a fantasy classic.
